SEREN GUARD® Disposable Blood Collection Set with its butterfly winged style needle is a medical device used for venipuncture (drawing blood from a vein) or for administering intravenous (IV) medications and fluids. It consists of a small needle, flexible tubing and wings on either side for easier handling.

SEREN GUARD® needle is typically smaller in gauge size compared to standard needles used for venipuncture and together with the attached flexible tubing, it is designed to penetrate the skin and access a vein for blood collection or IV administration. The butterfly winged flaps are on either side of the needle hub for better control and stability during insertion of the needle into the vein. The flexible tubing connects to other medical devices or collection containers. It allows for the flow of blood during collection or fluid administration during IV procedures.
